I admit it, a friend wanted me to offer cbd boosters in my shop and I was reluctant.
But this a priori was linked to a lack of information.
When he explained to me that this product had certain virtues without the "stone" effect of cannabis, I was even more dubious.
I knew this product legal, present in the environment of vaping without much interest.
I decided to conduct my little investigation on CBD in e liquids.
What is CBD ?
CBD is an abbreviation for cannabidiol, a component of cannabis.
You certainly know the best known of all, the THC or delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol at the origin of the psychoactive effects of cannabis.
But it is just one cannabinoid of the 80 present in this plant.
CBD is the most abundant cannabinoid after THC.
What is a cannabinoid ?
Cannabinoid is simply a substance that responds to our receptors.
Our body even products these cannabinoids called endocannabinoids.
Thus, the plant-derived cannabinoids are called phytocannabinoids and THC and CBD are part of it.
Does CBD get you high ?
Clearly, not at all.
CBD is one of the cannabis substances that is not psychoactive.
What makes high is THC.
Yes but will you say, if CBD doesn't get high, what's the point?
Numerous studies show that CBD has potential beneficits on certain health problems.
But the law does not allow us to mention its possible benefits.
Nevertheless, we invite you to read this complete file on the positive effects of CBD.
Are CBD e juices legal?
If THC is banned all over the world, the CBD is not subject to the same legislation.
In June 2018, the Interministerial Mission Against Drugs and Addictive Behaviors (Mildeca France) published a point on cannabidiol, stating that the CBD is not psychoactive and can not be classified in the narcotic category.
French law does not prohibit CBD if it does not contain THC.
What are the side effects of CBD?
A study dating from 2011 reveals that regular use at high doses (1500mg per day) seems well controlled.
Side effects noted are:
- oral dryness
- decreased blood pressure which, while potentially beneficial to the heart, may be contraindicated for people with low blood pressure
- drowsiness at high doses
- increased tremor in Parkinson's disease
According to this study, CBD does not interfere with eating behavior, does not increase heart rate, and does not affect psychomotor functions.
CBD, what dosage?
The dosage of CBD adapts to the desired effects.
- 10mg / ml or 100mg / 10ml, you get a liquid with light effects, allowing repeated use throughout the day
- 30mg / ml or 300mg / 10ml, you get a dosed enough e liquid, corresponding to a more punctual use
- 50mg / ml or 500mg / 10ml, you get a high dose e juice, reserved for occasional use
Although overdose effects are non-existent, it is advisable to respect this dosage and to start wisely by inhaling CBD twice a day to evaluate its impact.
It is also recommended to adapt the power of its electronic cigarette to adjust the dosage of CBD to a moderate vaporization.
E Liquid CBD vs CBD Booster
As with the nicotine booster, the CBD booster is in fact CBD strongly dosed in propylene glycol.
It is therefore a matter of diluting it in a neutral base to create your own CBD vape juice.
The interest of this conditioning we propose here is above all economic.
With a single bottle of 10ml CBD 1000mg diluted in 190ml of neutral base, you can make 20 bottles of 10ml eliquide dosed at 50mg.
CBD Booster or CBD Oils?
We already know that oils are strongly inadvisable by inhalation because of their potential impact on the respiratory system.
As with liquids, it is dangerous to vaporize and inhale oil, be it essential oil or CBD.
How to store a DIY CBD e liquid ?
Just as with nicotine, it is desirable to keep your boosters and CBD preparations away from light and heat and keep them out of the reach of children and pets.
What about cannabis screening test ?
Just like an alcohol test that detects only ethanol, cannabis screening only targets THC.
If you use a product containing only cannabidiol, you do not take any chances.
Beware, however, of the eliquid compounds of impure CBD crystals or CBD oil that will make any test positive.
It is strongly discouraged to drive after vaping CBD because its impact on alertness, reflexes and reaction time is unknown.
Avoid its consumption before driving.
In the end, if you want to test CBD vape for zen effects, nothing prevents you to do some cannabis e-liquids to judge its action.
